RORKE'S DRIFT HERO
Surprised at Report of Death
in Sydney.
ERRONEOUS PICTURE.
(Received 11.30 a.m.)
LONDON, February 14
Arthur Howard, a survivor of Koike's Drift, was surprised when he heard a report that he had died in Sydney. He told the "Daily Mirror": "I have been living in Kent for 40 years and I have never been to Australia. As you see lam quite alive. How the Sydney Art Gallerv can have a picture of me leaving a'burning hospital carrying a man on my shoulders I cannot understand. It was as much as I could do to leave the building myself when the Zulus burned it, without carrying anyone. There were only 86 of us and I cannot think that there was another Arthur Howard there."
