(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

PICTON, this day,

The championship rowing regatta is being held' at Picton to-day. The weather" is overcast, with a light drizzle.

Crews have to contend with a medium southerly head wind. The water is a trifle choppy for the early stages, but is smooth at the finish.

A large number of crews are-compet-ing, though the field is small for the New Zealand championship fours.

Results :—' New Zealand Champion Fours, two miles. Picton (L. Jackson, .Olsson, Wilson,. Schimansky), 1; Hamilton, 2; Wairau, 3. Won by two lengths, 'Wairau being well back, third.
