TROTTING.

ADDINGTON NOTES.

ACHRAY GOES SOUTH.

ESCAPADE CHANGES HANDS

AGAIN.

SAHIB BACK AT WORK,

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.")

CHRISTCHURCH, this, day.

W. J. Morland lias just started on a two-year-old filly by Man o' War from Belette, the dam of Lady Joan and Epigram. She is a quality-looking youngster, the resembles her sire. Although only a short time in work, she paces with an easy action. Sahib is back at work at Addington. The speedy iniler looks well, but he is best over short distances, and there are not a great many mile events on programmes nowadays. . The three-year-old Rey de Oro pacer, from - Country Belle, is in work again after a spell. His owner-trainer, W. J. Morland, is a strong believer in not hurrying young pacers in their training work, and after a few weeks on the track they usually are given regular spells until they are thoroughly matured. The Rey de Oro pacer has benefited by his respite, and will now probably be kept in work for a longer period.

F- J. Owen is handling a two-year-Old by Rey de Oro from Coral Queen, the damof the fast but erratic Bing Boy. The Rey de Oro youngster goes at the pacing gait, and looks as though* he would be useful..

Tile pacer Achray, who has done most of his racing in the North Island, is now being trained by G. McKendry at Addington. Laplander is looking big and well, and he has furnished a good deal of late. He did not race well in his last effort, but he is expected to do better later on, The Great Audubon three-year-old pacer, Morrison, did not race up to expectations at the last meeting of the Wellington Trotting Club, and his track work since' his return has not been satisfactory to his trainer. Morrison may require more time before he is seen at his best. Prior to the Wellington meeting he was working well at Addington.

J. MesservCy, after a long illness, was at Addington during the week with his old favourite, Onyx. She has proved hot to be in foal this season, so it has been decided to put her into work again. The. trotter Escapade has been repurchased by her breeder, W. J. Morland, and she will be used as a brood mare. Escapade put up some high grade performances for her owner-breeder, and was then sold. For her new owners, the Nelson Bingen mare Avon several good stakes, and was then retired to the stud. No doubt sentimental reasons had something to do with her repuiv chase by her breeder.
