, BIG- BILLIARDS BREAK. LONDON, January 31. ■ In the billiards match McConachy (New Zealand) v. Newman, the scores are:—McConachy, 92G7, including breaks, of 675, 1739 (a personal record) and 203; Newman, 5551, including breaks of 1 362 and 647. In the match Lindrum v. Smith the scores are:—Lindrum, 10,555, including breaks of. 1222, 368, 201 and 252; Smithj 5989, including breaks of 252, 334, 237, 386 and 264. ' McConachy reached the high watermark of his career with his break of 1739, which came mainly from top of the table play. It eclipsed his own record of IG3O made at Grimsby. Several difficult shots were negotiated in brilliant fashion. His feat was the greater as Newman also was in exceptional form.
