SCHOOL DAYS APPROACH.

LAST OF THE HOLIDAYS. My Dear Little Friends, — How are the holidays, little ones ? I expect you are all having a great time, although the rain did spoil a lot of fun, didn't it? I expect some of you will be going to school for the first time this year. Now I hope you will enjoy it, for school is such fun, especially when you are allowed to play with beads and sand and all sorts of good things like that. . Some, of course, are quite grown up now and will be leaving the primers behind, and they, too, will be having a good time, for, although the work will be harder, there are better games during play time and there is every chance of getting into the class cricket team. School day* are happy days, kiddies, and the easiest way you can make: them real happy is to work hard. I am sure you will all agree with me that any unhappiness at school comes as a,result of bad work, which is only another way of saying that play was done instead of work, and punishment the result. I wonder if you ever think of the teacher? He or she does not want to make you unhappy Rather they want to help you learn, so all do your best this year, then when the holiday, come round again perhaps mother will reward you for your good work and give you a special treat. In the meantime, until the school bell rings again, I wish you all ST) \ a very happy time during the last . few days of fun and games. Let all hope for fine weather.
