BEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

KNIGHT—'WOOLLEY.

St. Barnabas' Church, was chosen for} jfche marriage of Alice, youngest daughter of Mr. A. J. Woolley, of Valley iEtoad Mount Eden, to Keith Austin, youngest' ! son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Knight, of Mount Eden. The Rev. E. E. Bamford officiated. Entering the church -with her father, the bride wore an ivory georgette frock, the skirt having several picot edged flounces which touched the ground at the back. Silk tulle was swathed over the head to fajl into a filmy train, a single band of orange blossom buds surrounding the head. She carried a white Ehower bouquet with long satin streamers. Miss Edna Sutherland was in attendance as bridesmaid, and wore powder blue crepe de chine inset with embroidered pink medallions. The tulle cap had a wreath of silver leaves, and a pink shower bouquet was carried. The little flower girl, Oean Knight, was in briar rose with headdress of tulle, and carried a silver basket of pink carnations. Mr. Roland Ewan was best man. Mrs.' Arthur Mason, the bride's sister, was hostess at the reception, held at the Domain Kiosk, and wore a deep blue figured chiffon, trimmed with amber, and hat to tone. The bridegroom's mother wore a gown of navy satin beaute with Email hat and crimson bouquet.

SMITH—McGOWAN.

A rary pretty wedding took place on Wednesday evening, January 16, at the Suva Jubilee (Native) Church, when Lorna Dunoon, elder daughter of Mr. ana Mrs. A. Q. rMcGowan, of Suva, was married to David Gordon McLaren, son of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Matakohe, Kaipara, Auckland. Rev. L. M. Thompson officiated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a charming frock of white taffeta, with skirt of tulle frills falling in an uneven hemline. Her tulle embroidered veil 'was held in place by small sprays of orange blossom and her' shower bouquet of lilies and bther white flowers completed a very pretty toilette. Attending her were her sister, Miss Doris McGowan, and Miss jFlora Eenton (Auckland), who wore dainty frocks of eau-de-nil and pink respectively. They chose a simple but effective-'style'of : three flounce skirt of uneven hemline. Picture hats were worn and each carried an early Victorian posy. Mr. A. McPherson and Mr. M. Alexander were best man and groomsman respectively. The service at the church was fully choraL Girl: friends of the bride had very prettily decorated the interior of the church. After the ceremopy Mrs. McGowan, mother of the bride, received her guests in a frock of champagne georgette with small hat to tone. _ A large ' number of guests were entertained and toastis duly honoured.

MULCAHY-MORRICE—HOBBS- ' MCfIRICE. A pretty double wedding, of. great interest to residents was celebrated at Knox Presbyterian " Church, Morriiisville, on Wednesday; when Miss Gladys Addison Morrice, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Morrice, of Morrinsville, was married to Mr. Owen Walter Mulcahy, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.' J. Mulcahy, also., of Morrinsville; and Miss Jessie Florence Morrice, second daughter, was married to Mr. Johit'Victor; Eric -Hobbs, son of > Mr. .J. ' Hobbs, aftd : the late Mrs.-.. Hobbs? of ~Palmerston North. Tlie Rev. J. H. Starn'es performed the double ceremony. Decorated with masses of pale blue hydrangeas and pink lobelia, the church made a? be'kutifnl setting for the wedding. -The; bridal party entered under arches of hydrangea'blooms intertwined with white ribbons, arched across from the aisle from pew to pew. Wedding bells of white roses and sweetpeas Were suspended above the couples. The brides, who were given away by their father, were dressed alike in frocks of ivory georgette, with pointed hems of silver lace falling to the ankles. Ibroidered tulle veils were held in place" with coronets of orange blossoms, and ; they carried bouquets of white dahlias and roses and asparagus fern and majden 'hair fern/. .In attendance on the bridesmaids were Miss Edna 'Morrice, sister of' the .brides, and Miss Betty Strand, who both wore lemon- georgette frocks with large blue picture hats.
