BUTTER SLOW, CHEESE DULL. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, January SO. Butter is slow. Danish, 172/. Others easier. Choicest salted: New Zealand, 152/ to 154/; Australian, 150/ to 152/. Unsalted: New Zealand, 166/ to 170/; Australian, 154/ to 156/. Cheese is dull. New Zealand, coloured, 88/ to 89/; white, 90/ to 91/; Australian, coloured, 86/ to 87/; white, 88/ to 89/. Messrs. Andrew Clement and Sons, Ltd., have received the following cabled advice from their London' office, dated 30th instant:— Butter.—Steadier. 152/ to 154/. Cheese.—Firm. 88/ to 90/. The Taranaki has Arrived. Amalgamated Dairies, Limited, 'have received the following cablegram from their London house, -dated January 30:—Butter: Best, 156/; -market 6beady; generally 154/ for finest, after sales at 152/ to 153/; Danish, 166/, f.o.b. Cheese: white, 90/; coloured, 88/. Market quieter, but firm. Andrew _ Clement and Sons, Limited, •have received the following cablegram from their London house, dated January 30: — Butter: Steadier, 152/ to 154/. Cheese: Firm, 88/ to 90/. The Taranaki has arrived. Messrs. Dalgety'and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated the 30th instant. Messrs. Samuel Page and Son report:— Butter.—The market is qniet. Demand fair on basis of finest New Zealand 152/. New Zealand, finest salted, at 151/ to 154/; Danish, at 172/ to 174/; Australian, finest unsalted, at 154/ to 156/; finest salted, at 149/ to 152/; g.a.q., at 144/ to 148/. Cheese.—The market is quiet. New Zealand, white, at 90/; coloured, at 88/; Canadian, white, at 96/ to 98/; coloured, at 96/ to 98/. SHEEPSKINS. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the cablegram from their London house, dated the 30th instant:— The attendance is fair. 3358 bales offered and 3230 bales sold. Competition is irregular. Australian Merino, 15 per cent lower; very little was sold. Australian crossbred, 15 per cent to 20 per cent lower when sold; mostly withdrawn. Good demand for New Zealand best sorts. Crossbred, 10 per cent to 15 per cent lower; other descriptions, 15 per cent to 20 per cent lower, as compared with closing rates of last series.
