YOUNG MAN FINED. Taking special circumstances into account, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., convicted and discharged- Eunice Buckley} who was brought before the Magistrate's Court on a charge of selling liquor in a shop in Hobson Street. ; ,Mr. J. J. Sullivan, who appeared for defendant, said that Buckley had not sold the beer. The case was a pitiable one, and counsel asked for, leniency as the husabnd of defendant was fined £50 last week. The amount was still unpaid. The Buckleys had two children, one of whom was dying of pneumonia; 'Richard Graham "Fausett Was fined £1 for taking two gallons of wine into the J no license district of Mount Eden without notifying his intention of so doing. Mr. Sullivan, in entering a plea of guilty on behalf of defendant, said that Fausett and two other young fellows decided,to spend the Christmas holidays at Muriwai, and ordered the wine. Ow--ing to the late delivery of the liquor, Fausett took it to his home.in .Mount .Eden. , •
