FAREWELL AT WELLINGTON.
" (By 'Telegraph:—Press Association.) ' WELLINGTON, Friday,
Full membership of \ the Commercial Travellers' Association has been extended to the Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergussoii, at a farewell gathering this . evening. The president (Mr. Arthur Jacobs) presented the hadge.. of, the association to his Excellency, and in doing so said they had a membership of 5000 in New Zealand and it was the wish of them all that Sir; Charles, should be one of tliem. His Excellency, in replying, announced that to-day was his birthday.- This brought forth a spontaneous outburst of cheering and good wishes.
