Nichols only contributed one before Gallaclian beat him. :, •Duleepsinhji delighted the crowd with splendid batting. His partnership with Worthington was spectacular and yielded a century. At 145 Duleepsinhji hit McVicar to Cutler at long on and was splendidly caught. His 60 included one six and six fours. Turnbull partnered Worthington, but with a boundary added was bowled by McVicar. Earle, a powerful hitter, contributed three sixes, hitting, Gallaclian. completely out of the ground, but when batting well he lost- Worthington, who mis-timed a delivery, sending a ball to Spring at point. He had contributed a six and six fours. Woolley -joined Earle and scored steadily.' He had reached double figures when Earle was caught by A. M. Ongley off Cutler's first ball. Woolley had parsed the half-century before stumps were drawn. The visitors had completely captured the Manawatu bowling at this stage. Scores are:— MANAWATU —First Innings. B.
