Miss Blanche Worsp, of Auckland, is on a visit to Rotorua, and is a guest at Grand? Yue.. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Major and Mrs. Miles and family, who have been spending a month's "holiday in Rotorua, have returned to Takapuna. Mrs. Ashton and Miss Rita Ashton have returned to Auckland after a visit to Rotorua. Mr. and ..Mrs. W. Culpan and family, who have been in Rotorua for the holidays, have returned to. Remuera. Mr. and Mrs. W. Bridle, of Waiuku, wijo have been visiting Rotorua, have left for Te Awamutu, and will then return to their home. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Davys and Miss V. Davys, Pukuatua Street, have returned from a holiday spent in Wellington. Mrs. and Miss Burnside, of Kohimarama, have returned to tlieir home from a holiday in Rotorua.. Mr. and Mrs. Fotheringham and Mr. Bob Fotheringham, of Takapuna, who have been staying at "The Lodge," Hamurana for the • holidays, return to Auckland on Saturday.

A delightful surprise party was taken to the residence of Mrs. H. A. Goudie, Sophia Street, on.Wednesday, when the evening was devoted to bridge. Shaded Iceland poppies and blue and pink hydrangeas made effective decorations. Mrs. Goudie received the guests wearing a navy blue and gold georgette frock. The prizes were won by Mrs. F. C. Bunyard Ist, and Mrs. A. W. Shaw 2nd. The guests were: Mrs. W. W. P. Hall, Mrs. F. C. Bunyard, Mrs. A. W. Shaw, Miss Gunn, Miss J. McPherson, Miss K. Hall, Miss D. Corlett.

Mr. E. E. Vaile, of "Broadlands," with Mr. Carr, M.P., and Mrs. Carr, Mr. Kyle, M.P., and Kyle,' and the following members of Parliament:—The Hon.
