HALF-HOLIDAY AND LOANS. j At the meeting of the Howick Towu Board it was decided to continue with Wednesday as the lialf-holiday for shops in the district. The board's solicitor was asked to secure best quotations for financing t e recently sanctioned loans for water- reticulation and main highway concrete work, detour roads and footpaths. A special permit was granted to Mr. G. Wallace to subdivide two allotments with 45ft frontages, this being essential owing to the overlapping of surveys in Grey "Street and a rearrangement of the area.
