The cricket match between Manawatu and the M.C.C. team is being finished to-day in bright sunshine, following rain showers over-night. The wicket is in good order. .... ...... .. Woolley .(55) and .Dawson (12) continued to .bat brightly, the former being particularly aggressive. Getting several sixes, he reached his century after 90 minutes. Then he had a. lucky, "life," through a fieldsman misjudging a ball from an uppish shot. •The fourth century came after : 238 minutes' play. . Woolley again had a "life," a chance of stumping him not being taken. The partnership, was broken immediately afterwards, a smart return seeing Dawson run out. He made 46 out of the 159 added for the eighth wicket. " •, Legge followed,, and the total was advanced to 418, when Cutler clean bowled Woolley. He made 125 in 117-minutes, and hit eight fours and five sixes. Gilligan was the last man in. Legge was dropped in the slips.
