CONTINUANCE OF PLAY.

POSTPONEMENT YESTERDAY. TO-DAY'S RESULTS. Perfect tennis weather, with the prospect of a hot sun drying the courts for fast play, dawned for the continuance of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association championship and handicap tourney at Stanley Street this morning. Owing to the heavy rain on Tuesday morning it was impossible to continue play on that day. The standard was fairly consistently high, and some of the handicaps, particularly in the men's events, produced good tennis. The final of the boy's doubles championship was reached after lunch, when Browrilee and Milne beat P. Wilson and J. Wilson. All four players were confident from the outset, and the match was easily the best of the day. Each game was fought keenly, but when the score in the first set was 5 2in favoui of Brownlee and Milne, P. Wilson's serve broke down, giving away the first set. The leading pair then went on to capture the next four games in succession; J. Wilson broke through with his serve, and the, Wilson brothers won the next two games. It was a last effort, however, and their opponents took the last game and with it, the set and'match — 6—2, 6—2. The winning pair were steady beyond their years, and it was this which brought them through. The volleying of all four was most excellent, particularly that of Milne, who was the outstanding member of the four. Brownless and Milne in May last won the New Zealand boys' doubles championship under 18 at Wellington. Results of Tuesday's play are:— Men's Handicap Singles. SECOND ROUND. K.
