origin of trouble. mauites resist ARREST. fob assault oh police. tamasese among rioters. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Prime Minister announced to-day that reports from the Administrator of Testem Samoa indicated that the natives whom the police were endeavourto arrest when the attack occurred wt Saturday were wanted on warrant for assaulting the police, and that Tamasese, leader of the Man who died from wounds received during the affray, W as among the rioters. At' least cue automatic pistol was used by the Mau. The'territory is reported by the Administrator to" be now quiet. The Mau are dispersing, and the Administrator has received a large number of offers of help, if necessary, from loyal natives.
