Why Not Malte Some This Week?— jT" Here is a Recipe Easy to Follow b WHITE BREAD 1 cup Duryea's Maizena § cup milk r-. 1 heaping teaspoon salt 7 cups wheat flour § tablespoon butter J tablespoon lard J cake yeast " For all bread made with yeast, the milk should be warm but not boiling. After it is well heated let it cool to the lukewarm point, although in winter it may be made a trifle Zz warmer than in summer. Sift together well one cup of ~~~ Duryea's Maizena with flour and salt. Rub in the lard and butter. Follow this with the half yeast cake dissolved in the % - milk, or two-thirds cup home-made yeast. Then gradually add the milk, stirring all the time, and heating well for twentyfive minutes after the milk is all in. As soon as it is done, cover _ well, but loosely, with a cloth and set to rise over night in a place where it will not become chilled, but will not be too warm. In the morning mould quickly into two loaves andput in buttered pan, and let rise again even with the pan. This bread may be made with luke-warm water instead of milk, and is much preferred by some.
