MANY CARNIVALS IN PROGRESS. RACING AT ELLERSLIE. GALLOPS AT TARANAKI, MANAWATU, DUNEDIN } FOUR TROTTING MEETINGS ON CARD.
Boxing Day is always sportsmen's paradise in the Dominion and this year sees an even greater number of turf meetings scheduled than usual. Apart from racing at Ellerslie (Auckland Cup day), New Plymouth, Awapuni and Wingatui, there were minor fixtures at Waipukurau, Hokitika (Wesland Racing Club) and Pirongia (Alexandra Racing Club). Trotting programmes weie got off at Carterton, Ashburton, Gore and Westport.
