A CHRISTMAS DUTY.
At this time of the year the needs of the less fortunate members of the community make a special appeal to the more fortunate through various channels. Several such appeals have been published in our columns, and, of course, there are many cases where private charity can operate wisely and Avell by dealing directly with want and distress. We commend all such giving to our readers at this season of peace and goodwill. No person with more than he requires deserves to spend a happy .Christmas if he does not remember his poorer brother. We would like to mention again the movement 'to' raise money for fighting tuberculosis by the sale of stamps. Here is an easy way of helping a noble cause. Every special, stamp bought means ci penny towards the fund for establishing camps for delicate children, and every child given this enjoyable treatment means a gain in the fight against this particular disease. Tuberculosis can be stamped out by preventive measures, and the most important of such measures is the treatment of children. Everybody buys stamps for postage these clays, and it is not much trouble to ask for the special stamp and so swell the fund. The spirit of giving that goes with Christmas will help a cause that knows no seasons.
