SOME GOOD PERFORMANCES. A weight lifting competition wa? held at Wilson's Gymnasium Inst week. Although the competition was at short notice the entrants performed well. Results:— W. Jowltt 1641b, lifted 4501b. being -. 74 times his body weight. 1: W. Blakey weighing 150Jlb. lifted 40Qlb. bein;? 1." times his body weight 2; F. Brindle weighing 14031b. lifted 3601b, heins: 2.55 times his body weight, 3. Mr. Wilson presented a handsome silver cup to the winner, and medals to the second and third. The evening concluded with an exhibition of acrobatics and fonrs of strength by Mr. Wilson and a pupil, Mr. Eversoni
