YOUTH DROWNED.
FORDING A RIVER. SADDLE GIRTH BROKE. HOKITIKA, this day. Stanley Paterson, aged 19, was crossing the Upper Arahura River on Saturday evening on a horse when he Was thrown into the water through the saddle girth giving way. His companion on the horse reached shore, but Pater3on waa drowned. His body was recovered yesterday morning. ,
