MISSING YOUTH.
"EVERYTHING ALL RIGHT."
MESSAGE TO EMPLOYER.
SEARCH MADE NEEDLESSLY.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CISBORNE, this day.
" Everything all right—Dick," was the message received from Te Puke by the employer of the youth Dick Vercoc, for whom an extensive search had been made in the past week in the Waingako district. The message implies that the lad is safe.
Vercoe vanished one night last week, leaving a letter plainly indicating his intention to commit suicide. Hβ left, unopened, a letter from his parents at Te Puke, which he said in a farewell note was probably an invitation to return home for Christmas. He took the only razor with him, leaving all his other personal belongings, including a motor bicycle, which ho instructed a friend to sell, using the receipts to repay a loan. The _ police search included dragging operations in a river near the station homestead.
