A further round in the Thames Cricket Association's competitions was held on Saturday in fine- weather, when Karaka maintained its lead in the Crease Cup championship by heating City by 8 runs and registering a three-point win. Tararu also had a three-point win against High School. This is the first occasion this season that two three-point Wins have been recorded.

In the Karaka v. City game the former opened the batting and closed with 81 (J. Buchan 21, K. Buchan 17). With the ball Gibson took five for 41, Wells three for 16. City were all out for 48 (Sliaw 18, Watson 11. Dobson 11). J. •Buchan took five wickets for 28, and S. Buchan five for 19. In their second innings Karaka scored 50 (Brokensliire not out 19, G. Buchan 11), leaving City 84 to • win. The wickets in this innings fal to Gibson three for 16, Wells four f °r 24, and Vangioni two for 7. City *ere>only able to score 75 (Hoyle 17, Dobson 13), thus giving Karaka a threePoint win.

In the Tararu-High School match Tararu closed their first innings with | 5 4 (Cleave 64, Baker 22, Dare 31, Otto !2). The wickets fell to Montague seven for 42, Renshaw two for 11. High School were disposed of for 71 (Baker 26,* Hoyle 10). Cleave took three for |5, Morgan three for 19, Dare two for 13 - High School followed on and put B P 101 (Pratt 24, Hoyle 16, Baker 13). Cleave took two for 22, Dare four for 20, Fox two for 19. At the close of time Tararu had three wickets down for 25, Cleave being responsible for 14, which gave Tararu a three-point win.
