Hatry's Plans To Obtain Money. WASTE-PAPER SECURITY. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 10. Arising out of the charges against Clarence Hatry and his associates, of obtaining by false pretences £1350 in connection with Iron Industries, Limited, counsel for the prosecution alleged that Iron Industries, Limited, was a dummy company, created to provide securities on which money could be borrowed, the defendants pledging 2,190,000 iron, industrv shares against loans totalling £2,075,000, although the shares were waste-paper. Mr. Walter Morgan, in ,his evidence, said that Hatry invited him to be a temporary director. He only attended the first meeting. Mr. Ben Dawson said that the first intimation he had that he was chairman of the company was an announcement in a newspaper. The accused were again remanded.
