TE KAUWHATA ORCHARDS.
PROSPECTS GOOD. VERY LITTLE BLIGHT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE EAUWHATA, this day. The Te Kauwhata orchards are now looking at their best. Plentiful warm rains have produced healthy growth in all the trees, and the prospects for the coming season appear to be good. This especially applies to the apple crop, but it is yet too early to forecast the grape yield. Generally speaking, all orchards are free from serious ravages of blight. Early in the season there was an appearance of "black spot," but this yielded to speedy treatment and has now disappeared.
