"Christmas puddin'," he gasped. * Then an excited expression overspread his face, and, hastily taking down one, lie commenced, to bore into it. "Hurrah, thruppence!" he cried, and began operations on the other side. By the time he had extracted a shilling the duff looked rather perforated, but he stuffed tho holes with kapok. "Golly, I hope mum remembers that; Christmas is a time of peace and goodwill."
