BUILDERS MEET.

USEFULNESS OF ASSOCIATION. YEAR'S WORK REVIEWED. The fact that during the year the association had continued to prove its usefulness as a means of protection for and assistance to those engaged in the trade, was commented upon in the report presented to the annual meeting of the Auckland Master Builders' Association last evening. Mr. N. Cole presided over a largo attendance. The report regretted,. however, that more members did not make themselves acquainted with the work that was being done in their interests. The apprenticeship committee held, regular meetings, and valuable work had been done by Messrs. V. A. Coyle, C. W. Ravenhall, G: G. Pollard, and R. A. Cornish. Consideration had been given the new grading system' for timber, and a resolution condemning the schedule prepared by the Sawmillers' Association was helpful to the Auckland Timber Merchants' Association, which strongly oppi>sed the new classification. The feredation executive had continued its valuable services, particularly by watching legislation that was likely to affect the build • ihg'industry. There could be no doubt of its great usefulness. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Cole for his services as president during the year, and the following officers were elected for year:—President, Mr. R. A. Cornish; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. W. Ravenhall ' and C. J. Bishop; treasurer, Mr. J. H. Hutchison; auditor,-Mr. C. J. Bishop; committee, Messrs. G- G. Pollard, W. J. Mann, A. J. Morse, N. Cole, 0. E. Bartleet, T. F. Buckly, V. A. Coyle, S. L". Wallath, P. W.- McCallum; delegates to annual conference,. Messrs. R. A. Cornish, "N. Cole and C. J. Bishop; advisory committee, Messrs. G. C. Pollard, E. B. Barnbury and J. H. Hutchison.

arrangements were made to receive delegates at the annual conference to be held in Auckland on February 26 and 27.
