MENACING A FARMHOUSE
FARMER'S WIFE GAGGED.
PREMISES RANSACKED. POLICE ORGANISING SEARCH. (By Association.) MARTON, this day. Great concern has been Caused in the Silverhopo district, near Huiiterville, by the action of a desperate criminal 01 maniac. The farmhouse of Mr. Di Meads was visited early yesterday morning by a masked man, who was frightened away. Later iii the morning, when Mr. Meads was out on the farm, the man returned and frightened Mi's* Meads, who screamed to her husband. The man stole a gun and disappeared suddenly. A search proved fruitless, •but again in tho evening* the irian returned, while Mr. Meads was in a cowshed. Ho bound and gagged Mrs. Meads, and ransacked the "house.
