OLD AUCKLANDER.

NATIVE OF 75 YEARS AGO. (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Alexander Allan Rattray, accountant, died in England at the age of 75 years. Mr. Rattray was born in Auckland and was there during the Maori wars. ,Mr. Rattray was a son of the late Mr. William Rattray., who, in the early clays of Auckland, was the leading draper in Queen Street. Subsequent to his death the business was for many years carried on by three of the heads of departments, under the name of Williams, Wilson'and McCullough. Deceased is a brother of Mr. William Rattray of this city, who has so long been connected with St. John Ambulance in Auckland. Mr. A. A. Rattray went to Australia many, years ago, and was successful in business. He was a director of an insurance company, and had visited England on several occasions within the last few years. Mr. Rattray paid a visit to Auckland some years ago.
