Considerable damage is being done to fruit crops and flowers in the Waikato by an insect which is described by an officer of the Agricultural Department as the bronze beetle. Commercial aviation in the Waikato is to be undertaken by a company to - be known as Waikato Aero Club, i Limited, which is being formed by two : local Sving enthusiasts, Mr. E. Thorn- '. ton Tidd and Mr. R. Kemp. They pur--5 chased a Bluebird aeroplane from Eng--1 land, and the machine has been making trial flights over the Waikato.
