SEVEN YEARS' ADVENTURE THROUGH MANY LANDS. The first girl to have travelled round > the world by motor car has just arrived ■ in England, after passing through 4S i" countries, including New Zealand, and ! crossing four Continents, in seven years of thrilling adventure and amazing hardship. She is Mrs. Aloha Wanderwell, who with her husband, Captain Walter Wanderwell, organised this expedition at 1 propaganda for an international poliw force, which, they suggest; should. bt , composed of representatives of al nations, and should uphold international law. Mrs. Aloha Wanderwell commenced the trip when she was 16 years of it 1922, and since then she and her husband have driven 60,000 miles, including terri tory never before traversed by whitt men. "In Morocco we got mixed up in the Riff war," said Mrs. Wanderwell, in ar interview in London, "and in the Carpai thian mountains bur cars got snowed-ir : for several days. Our worst experiences 1 were in the heart of Portuguese East , Africa,, where we were among natives l who had never before seen white people ■ far less a car. They proved quite [! friendly, however, our real enemies being hunger and thirst. At one time wc were fifty kilometres from water, and ii our cars had broken down or our tyres punctured on the rough veldt, we should . have starved to death. " "One of the most intensely fascinating J and awe-inspiring weeks I have evei 1 lived through was spent on Lake Victoria I Nyanza during a funeral ceremony of the J Kavirondo tribe.
