DONOVAN'S ARM INJURY.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAUiMARUA'UI, Monday. A successful amateur boxing tournament was held by the Taumarunui Boxing Association on Saturday. Results :— Midgets.—'K. Treloar defeated W. McVeigh , T. Treloar defeated D. McVeigh. Heavy-weights.—Thurston (Taihape) defeated Holmes (Te Kuiti) , T. Mullins (Te Kuiti) drew with G. N. Fraer (Auckland). Middle-weights.—Francis defeated R. Bakewell, L. Thomas (Palmerston North) defeated J. Sillon (Taihape), Stebbings defeated Malone. Welter-weights.—J. Plank (Ohakune) defeated C. McMahon (Taihape), V. Beilly (Taihape) defeated A. Simcock (Taumarunui), fight stopped in first round, Clarrie Craig (Auckland) defeated C. Haddon (Taumarunui) after a sterling contest. Lightweights.—J. Roper (Taumarunui) defeated J. Andrews (Te Kuiti), A. Day (Taihape) defeated J. Dyson (Frankton), B. Andrews (Te Kuiti) defeated C. Rush (Ohakune), J. McMahon (Taihape) defeated W. Jamieson (Ohakune), fight stopped in last round. Feather-weights.—S. Fraser defeated J. Jefferson.
(By Telegraph,—Own Correspondent.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. The boxing match between Tommy Donovan (Waitara) and Tommy Crowle (Australia), which was to have been held at New Plymouth on Thursday night, has been postponed until December 19, owing to Donovan having sustained injury during training.
