SANDERS CUP CONTEST. SUCCESSFUL WELLINGTON TRIAL. (By Telegraph.—Pres» Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The first of the series of Sanders Cup trials was held ou the harbour last night. . There was a strong northerly blowing, accompanied by a rather choppy sea, but these two factors afforded the crews the opportunity to give an exhibition of their seamanship, which they did. In fact, it was conceded by many, judging on sailing times and the state of the wind, that this trial could be numbered among the most successful that have been held in Wellington. The placings and finishing times were' as follow:—-Clyde, 7h 40m 455, 1; All Black, 7h 43m 9s, 2; Miss Josephine, 7h 44m 30s, 3; Wellesley 11., 7h 45m 14s, 4; Wellesley 1., 7h 40m 555, 5: Peffjrv, 71i 47m 325, G.
