KING POINTER.
ENTERED FOR AUCKLAND CUP BUT MAY 'NOT COME NORTH. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Lauristoii trainer, 0. E. Hooper, has King Pointer, Milo Minto and Real Huon engaged at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting at the .end of the month. King Pointer is engaged in the Cup, but he may not be forward enough to make the trip. King Pointer was in the New Zealand Cup, but lie contracted a cokl which later developed into srtangles, and he had to be thrown out of work a month prior to the big November • race. In the circumstances King Pointer can hardly be at his best, but Hooper will go North with the other two pacers. Another effort is to be made to train that fine pacer Away. The ex-South-lander is at A. G. Wilson's stable at New Brighton, and is at present standing up to his work satisfactorily. OTAHUHU CLUB'S NEW COURSE. Members of the Otaliuhu Trotting Club paid a visit to the new course at Otahuhu on Sunday. The club has hopes of being able to race there before long, and sites for the stands and totalisator have.been decided upon. One important decision arrived at is that the horses will race left-handed, which is the reverse way to the racing at Alexandra Park.
