YESTERDAY'S TRACK WORK. HISTORIC UNDER A CLOUD. j SIGNS OF LEG TROUBLE. i (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. Heavy rain fell at Trentham yesterday morning about an hour after the tracks were opened. The grass track •was soft after the heavy rain. Glare worked over a couple of rounds and Quantum sprinted six furlongs. Aspiring was better than Habit over five furlongs in 1.7. E. Murtagh takes this pair to Woodville to-day. H. Goldfinch will ride Habit. Open Cheque, who is engaged at Auckland, sprinted three furlongs. Kiriaim ran six furlongs in 1.22 J. Concentrate had Diana's Lad as a mate over a mile in 1.45. Diana's Lad subsequently schooled' well over four hurdles. Ex Dono and Footpad ran four furlongs in 55 1 s. Dolomite and Rory Mor ran seven furlings in 1.34 i, Oral going with them the first five. Miss Ransom came home over the last four of six furlongs in 5345, and looks improved as the • result of her raco at Feilding. Cimabuo' did three-quarter pace work. Historic did not gallop. He has been showing some signs of a recurrence of his leg trouble, which is not pleasing from an Auckland Cup point of view. He was physicked on Saturday. Silver Paper has not done at all well lately. He is to be physicked and W. Stone will probably take him back to Riccarton for a spell, though he may try to get him fit for some of the meetings at Christmas and New Year.
