BOXING.

LECKIE V. GRIME. BIG NAPIER ATTRACTION. The bout between Johnnie Leckie, feather-weight champion of New Zealland, and Billy Grime, one-time triple champion of Australia, is scheduled to take place at Napier on Saturday next. The mill is now being billed as "the battle of the century," and is attracting nation-wide attention, extra seating having to be provided in the Napier Municipal Theatre to accommodate the ceats already booked. Leckie has been training in Napier for the past fortnight, and seems to have thoroughly recovered from his recent indisposition. He has been showing rare form in his work-outs, but his main trouble is to get sparring partners who can stay with him long enough to give him a little exercise in punching. Twice last week Leckie let himself go in training bouts, and in loss time than it takes to tell the sparring partners wero on the canvas hearing tho birdies sing. The former Dunedin boy is feeling fit, and is confident that he can secure the honours against Grime on Saturday night. Grime, who arrived from Australia about a week ago, is also living in Napier, but he does'hi? training; at the nearby town of Hastings, where he spars with Artie Hay, New Zealand welter champion. Grime, a typical care-free confident Aussie, says that he will win for sure on Saturday. Lockie has been matched to meet the hard hitting Pete Sarron in Napier on January 1. and Grime meets Sarron in Wellington on December 26.
