AGENT'S AFFAIRS.
CREDITORS ACCEPT OFFER. The affairs of John Edward Mortimer, agent,-of Auckland, were further investigated to-day at a meeting of creditors held before the Official Assignee (Mr. A. W. Watters). The Assignee announced that since the last meeting he had received a letter from Mr. Biernacki, solicitor, acting on behalf of the relatives of debtor, in which an offer of £300 was made for the benefit of the creditors. The circumstances of the bankruptcy were being investigated by the Crown Solicitor, and it was for the creditors to decide regarding the acceptance of the offer. After considerable discussion the creditors adopted a resolution accepting the offer with certain reservations. A provision was that Mrs. Mortimer, wife of the debtor, should tranefer to the Official Assignee her interest in a mortgage on a farm property.
