SPURT DIES DOWN. A QUIET MORNING. Liveliness on the local Stock Exchange was continued yesterday afternoon, and a good number of sales were finalised after the "Star's" main edition went to press. The movement proved'to be in the .nature of a spurt, for at this morning s call bidding was comparatively dull, and not a single fresh sale was recorded. Following the Home market, Dalgety's shares have eased with a sale at £13, much the lowest price accepted for this scrip for a considerable period. Rights in Goldsbrough, Morts new issue, which were selling freely a few days back at 7/, are now offered at 6/6. Buyers for Auckland Gas have dropped back to £1 4/9. Taranaki Oil has been very dull of late, and the highest offer is 3/6, with sellers at 4/. Buyers of Milne and Choyce debenture stock are back to £1 7/. Two parcels of Inscribed 4%'s were offered this morning at £100 10/. The Noon Call. A-few sales were recorded at the noon call, and quotations generally were restated, with a downward trend continuing in some lines. The highest offer for Breweries was £4 4/6, with sellers at £4 6/6. There is brisk bidding for gilt-edged stocks, and in addition to Government loans a number of municipal debenture issues are asked for. P. and O. shares are sought, with highest buyer down to £2 10/.
