OVERSEAS MARKETS.
SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, December 4. At the Sydney wool sales 9709 bales ■were sold. The market was very firm, ■with good general competition. Greasy Merino made 35d. The final auctions will begin on December 16. STOCKS OF TIN. LONDOK December 4. The stocke of tin are:—Visible, 25,402 tons; 6pot, 1026; afloat, 3030; deliveries, 3624. WHEAT. LONDON, December 4. Cargoes are steady, with Manitobas occasionally lower. Li Plates were iheld for an advance of 6d. Parcels were in fair demand at an advance of 3d. THE PRICE OF GOLD.
LONDON. December 4. Gold is quoted at 84/11% per oz. LONDON WOOL SALES. LONDON, December 3. At the wool sales " 10,718 bales -were offered, of which 3832 were New Zealand. There was a moderate selection of greasy Merinos, a large and miscellaneous offering of scoured Merinos, and a better supply of greaey crossbreds. All sections were operating well at late rates. New Zealand greasy crossbred, Waipaoa, 16% d to 15% d. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 4th instant: Messrs. Samuel Page and Son report:— Butter. —The market continues weak. New Zealand, fineet salted, 162/ to 166/; Danish, 186/ to 188/; Australian, finest unsalted, 168/ to 174/; finest salted, 160/ to 164/; g.a.q., 156/ to 158/. Cheese.—The market is Blow. New Zealand, white, 92/ to 93/; coloured, 90/ to 91/; Canadian, white, 96/ to 98/; coloured, 96/ to 98/; c.i.f., 92/ to 96/. Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co. have received the following cable from their London principals, Messrs. Nathan and Trengrouse, Tooley Street, dated December 5, as follows: — Butter.—New Zealand, 166/ per cwt. Market quiet. Cheese.—New Zealand, white, 92/; coloured, 90/". Market weak.
