, Gold Money, who was given a spell after racing at the Avoiulale spring meeting, lias resumed work again at Ellerslie.

Clopton, after his performance at Avondale, in the spring, looked to have a good chance in the Melrose Handicap at the Takapuna meeting, but after going half the distance he was well back, and finished in that position.

Traynio.bile, a three-year-old gelding by Tea -Tray from Tireless, started favourite ami won the Thre§-year:ol(l Handicap at Menangle Park, New South Wales, on November 21. Traymbbile was bred by the Hon. E. W. Alison, of Auckland.

The Australian-bred two-year-old Tremetus registered a pleasing performance when he scored his initial success in the Cambria Handicap. Tremetus finished on very gamely over the concluding stages of the race and should be capable of winning again.

Horses from the Auckland district included among the entries for various races at the Egmont summer meeting are: Measurer, Roman Pearl, Wendav, Lady's Boy, Royal Doulton, Paganelli, Le Choucas, Pompeius, Vali, Spring Abbey, Macroom and Mitlira.

Although Brampton was beaten out of a place in the Pupukc Handicap on Moilday, he went a good race and only failed over the last furlong, being close up to the placed horses at the finish. If he repeats that form around the country meetings better results can be expected.

Ivairangipai and Puriri Park covered three furlongs on the No. 3 grass track at Ellerslie yesterday morning in 38 L-iis, both youngsters doing their work nicely. These two juveniles are doing well and, providing they train on satisfactorily, will be given a run at the Auckland summer meeting.

Sight Draft finished second to Chief Link in the Musket Stakes at Ellerslie in October and was not started again till the Takapuna meeting on Saturday. She never looked dangerous at any stage. On Monday she began smartly in the Cambria Handicap, and stayed on to get second. Her turn will come shortly.

Polyxena failed badly at the Auckland spring meeting, and her next appearance was at Takapuna on Monday, when she contested the C'autley Handicap. She finished second to Leitrim and is obviously on the improve. Polyxena was a good two-year-old last season, and lias only to again strike that form to win good sprint events.

Good Boy looked a very fit horse when he went out to contest the Pupukc Handicap at Takapuna on Monday, and he ran out the nine furlongs in great style. Now that the Some Boy 11. gelding has struck form again he should be .capable of 'winning further races, as he appears to be staying oil better than he has done in the past.

After getting all the worst of the start in the Cheltenham Handicap, Lady Quex made the opposition look very cheap in that event, which she won easing up by three lengths. Lady Quex has been allotted 8.0 in the Railway Handicap, and if she goes to the post in the big sprint event on Boxing Day she is sure to have plenty of admirers.

It is stated that Belle Star was sold during the Takapuna meeting', the new owner being the New Plymouth trainer, R. Johnson. Belle Star is a three-year-old filly by Lucullus from Starella, and though she has done little racing is a promising-looking sort who should soon be forward enough to earn something towards her purchase money.

Le Choucas was very unlucky in the Alison Cup on the first day of the Takapuna meeting. Just when he was whipping round to do his preliminary he lost his rider, and bolted well over a round before the race. Despite this fact ho was always well up and finished a good third. If he had not had such a strenuous "preliminary" he would have been much harder to beat.

The Lover is very nearly back to his best and he should add further to his record before long. On Saturday at Takapuna lie ran a very solid race in the Alison Cup, being the leader until the straight was reached, and Prodice was the only one to beat him at the finish. In the St. Andrew's Handicap he was prominent throughout and was a good third when the post was reached.

The win registered by Prodice in the Alison Cup was one of the most impressive at the meeting, and if she retains her present form more important races are likely to come her way. The Catmint mare thrives on racing, and with the holiday meetings coming on her future prospects appear particularly bright after the easy manner in which she defeated her opponents at Takapuna last Saturday.

Although Hampton Park only scored by a narrow margin in the Rakino Handicap, his performance was very creditable, for it marked his first appearance in -a race. He did not get any the best of the start and ran a bit wide coming round the home turn, still he finished on very gamely under pressure and was running on at the end of the race. Hampton Park is an attractive galloper, who looks sure to do much better before- the present season is concluded.

Sea Song has not been long at racing and she has quickly made jrood. She made her first appearance at the Wliangarei meeting, finishing second on the second day. Her next effort was at Takapuna on* Saturday, when she led from start to finish. She was again well supported for the Vauxhall Handicap on Monday and. after being prominent till the top, suddenly dropped out and finished well back. Nevertheless, she is a most promising sort and can be ticked off to win good races.

' Roman Pearl and Spring Abbey figure in the nominations for hack events to be run at the Egmont summer meeting, to be held at Hawera on December 18 and 10.

R. McTavish has been engaged to ride Abbess, Searcher, Hakanoa and Marble King on the first day of the Taumarunui meeting. This horseman, who is riding as well as ever this season, was in good form at the recent Takapuna meeting.

Briar Root ran sufficiently well at the Takapuna meeting to say that her turn is not far off. She finished third in the Plate on Saturday and showed up for a good way in the St. Andrew's Handicap on the second day.

The <Takapuna Plate again provided another great race on Saturday, half a head dividing Leitrim and Vali. The former was always well in the picture, but Vali had to be ridden pretty hard to get a good position early. He also had to come round three horses at the turn, and then made a great effort, but failed to catch Leitrim. Vali was rather unlucky.

In his two starts at the meeting, Glena Bay ran a couple of good races and is evidently at the top of his form. He finished third in the Tiri High-weight last Saturday and improved on that running by annexing the Ivawaii Handicap on Monday, which event he was also successful in twelve months ago. Glena Bay has been racing consistently of late, and as ho stays on well further good efforts can be expected of him.

Orapai looked to be the winner of the Cambria Handicap at Takapuna oil Saturday when the field turned for home, but failed to withstand a challenge from Tremetus. He was made favourite for the Rakino Handicap on Monday, but did not jump away too well. Gray rushed him up on the outside, and he was with the leaders at the turn, but failed to go on and finished well back.

Wenday ran two very solid races at the Takapuna meeting, finishing second on each occasion. She was third as they turned for home on the first day, after making up a lot of ground, but failed to catch Kairuri. On Monday her rider had her in front before the top was reached, and she held off all with the exception of Glena Bay. Wenday is engaged at the Taumarunui meeting and looks as though she may pick up a stake there.

For his years it is wonderful how Hipo retains his pace. He won at Te Kuiti, and with a bit more luck would have scored on the second day. His next start was in the Borough Handicap on the first day of the Takapuna meeting, in which he finished sixth. He was not much sought after in the St. Andrew's Handicap oil Monday, and, after being a long way back at the turn, put in a great run in the straight, to get second position.

The win registered by Kairuri in the Tiri High-weight was full of merit, more so as it was his first race in public. The Surveyor gelding has only been in training a few months, and the manner in which he ran out the nine furlongs and defeated his more seasoned opponents created a good impression among racegoers. P. C'orrigan turned the chestnut gelding out in good shape, considering the short time he has had charge of him.

Refresher drew the inside position in the Borough Handicap at Takapuna on Saturday, but just as he jumped away his rider, Eastwood, got his foot caught in the stirrup leather of the horse next to him and was dragged off. Refresher was made a very warm favourite for the Ngataringa Handicap, with which the meeting concluded, and he won nicely. He would have been very hard to dispose of on the first day only for the mishap at the start.

By winning both races that lie contested at the meeting, Leitrim showed himself up very attractively, and he stands out as one of the most improved gallopers seen out this season. Leitrim begins very fast and that has assisted him to a large extent in his recent successes. Although he did not beat a strong field in the Cautley Handicap, his effort in that race points to him being hard to beat in races of that class in the future.

Duellona got away badly in the Takapuna Plate, due, it is stated, to catching a tape in her mouth. She was absolutely last as they turned along the back and finished well back. On Monday she was made a warm favourite for the Stanley Handicap, and, well handled by H. Gray, she rushed past the leaders before the straight was reached and won easily. An inquiry was held into her running as compared with the first day and the explanation was accepted. Duellona is a very smart hack and has performed most consistently during the last few months.

Corinax had been doing well in his training work at Ellcrslie prior to the Takapuna meeting. He was. well supported for the Alison Cup and was handy to the leaders till about half a mile from home, when he commenced to drop back, and finished second to last in a field of eight. On Monday he was allowed to go out at a long price for the St. Andrew's Handicap, and he was always in front, drawing away in the straight, to score by a couple of lengths. The race the first day improved him considerably, and on that performance he will be in demand for the Auckland Cup, an event he won last season. Corinax is a great stayer.
