Alfred Bueklaiul and Sons, Limited, report:—To-day at our weekly Wcstfiekl fat stock market ive penned fat cattle to the number of 267 i:ead, comprising 103 steers and 114 cows and heifers, as compared with 332 head at last Wednesday's sale. The quality of the ox beef was first-class. There was a keen demand throughout and last week's values were fully maintained. Extra cnoice ox sold to 42/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 38/ to 41/; secondary and plain ox, 35/ to 37/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 35/ to 39/; ordinary cow beef, 30/ to 34/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £16 to £17, the latter price for two three-year-old show steers.. Heavy prime steers, £14 15/ to £15 17/6; lighter prime steers, £13 10/ to £14 12/6; light prime steers, £12 10/ to £13 7/6; small and unfinished steers, £11 to £12 7/6;- extra heavy prime young cows and heifers. £11 to £12 5/; heavy prime cows and heifers, £9 to £10 17/6; lighter prime cows and heifers, £7 10/ to £8 17/6; other billable cows, £5 10/ to £7 7/6.

Extra choice ox sold to 42/ per 100 lb; choice and prime ox, 38/ to 41/; ordinary and plain ox, 35/ to 37/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 37/ to 39/; ordinary cow beef, 34/ to 36/; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £15 to £16; heavy prime steers, £14 to £14 17/6; lighter prime steers, £13 to £13 17/6; light prime steers, £12 to £12 17/6;- small and unfinished steers, £10 to £11 15/; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £10 10/ to £11 10/; heavy prime cows and heifers, £9 10/ to £10 7/6; lighter prime cows and heifers. £8 to £8 7/6; light cows, £7 to £7 17/6: other cows, j £5 10/ to £6 17/6.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., report: —To-day at our fat stock market we offered ox beef in larger numbers than last week. Pure heavy-weight cattle were offered, and last week's values remained firm under steady competition. Cow and heifer beef was also penned in large numbers,, the market being steady and no alteration taking place.
