GIFT TO COUNTY.

PARK IN THE WAITAKERES. DONATION BY MR. T. B. ARTHUR. The gift of a scenic property nearly ten acres in extent in the Waitakere Ranges has been made to the Waitemata County Council by Mr. Thomas B. Arthur, of Takapuna. The area is known as Paramount Park. It is not a great distance from the city, being an easy motor run by way of Glen Eden and Oratia, and only two minutes' walk from the West Coast Road at the junction of Forest Hill Road.

The park is delightfully elevated and provides a recreation area suitable for tennis court 6, one of which has already been constructed and will be available for play this summer. The remainder of the area is thickly covered with native bush and rises to a height of over 1000 feet. All kinds of native flora are represented *iri the bush-clad slopes.
