"SUICIDE BY POISON."

PATIENT FROM HOSPITAL. BODY FOUND IN DOMAIN. "Suicide by poisoning" was the verdict of the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the conclusion yesterday of the inquest on the death of Archibald Claude Moore, whose body was found at the Grafton gully end of the Domain, opposite Blandford Park, last Sunday. Evidence was given this afternoon by Constable Hickey, who found the body. In the man's hand, said witness, was a bottle containing poison. A search of his clothing revealed three letter cards, in one of which he indicated that he intended to commit suicide. Other witnesses were Sister Margaret Boggs and Dr. F. Chisholm, of the Auckland Hospital, where Moore had been a patient. "He'was always depressed," said Sister Boggs. "He was suffering from* a nervous break-down." Witness said- that the bottle found in his hand was not one of the hospital stock. A further statement that the bottle of poison had not come from the 1 hospital was made by Dr. Chisholm. All such bottles at the hospital were kept locked up, he said. Moore was allowed the freedom of the grounds, and it was not thought that he would take "his life. He had been advised by another doctor to enter the Wolfe Home at the Auckland' Mental Hospital, as a voluntary patient.
