FAIR BUSINESS PASSING. , BANKS STILL WEAK. Quite a substantial volume of business was completed after the "Star's" main edition went to press yesterday, with few alterations from previous values. This morning commenced quietly, and only one sale was recorded at the 10 o'clock call."

Bank shares were again dull, with best offers for New South Wales £46 15/, Commercials £1 7/1, New Zealands £2 19/6. The coal section, and also the gilt edges continue strong, with plenty of buyers and few sellers. - A parcel of (1933) was offered at £100 5/, and one of 5Ya (1937) at £99 5/.

The Noon Call. The weak tone in banks was .confirmed at the noon call, with a sale of Commercials at £1 7/2. Mount Lyells also eased 3d. Breweries are dull, and buyers have reduced their offers to £4 7/. Dalgetys are offered at £13 12/, with no buyers. Interest Rates.
