PEDIGREE PIGS.
SUCCESSFUL CAMBRIDGE SALE
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
CAMBRIDGE, Thursday.
The fifth annual sale of pedigree pigs was held at Mr. F. Discouvbe'e "Lucernedale" stud farm, Hautapu, yesterday, when there was a good attendance of buyers and breeders from all parts of the Waikato and as far away as Whangarei and Tau* marunui. Tie sale was a successful one, being conducted by Messrs. Wright, Stevenson and Go. Several imported anir mals were offered, but the reserves were not reached, although one Tamworth sow was passed in at 25gns. R. Billington, of Morrinsville, paid 15 guineas for a DurocJersey sow. This was the first time in the Waikato that the recently imported Duroc-Jersey breed from the United States has been offered. There was keen interest in this breed, sows bringing from 12 to 15gns. In other breeds young boars from 2 months-old brought from 2 to sgns, and young sows similarly. Tamworth animals, both boars and sows, sold well, averaging from 7gns to 12gns.
