. 'QUAKE'S AFTERMATH. Rumania Suffers Fearsome Visitation. PRINCESS , NARROW ESCAPE. (United P.A.—Electric Copyright) BUCHAREST. November 3. An earthquake, followed by a great tidal wave, shook the country near Constanza yesterday, and many serious casualties occurred. Princess Ileana was nearly drowned when the tidal wave caught her yacht, in which she was sailing from Constanza, and dashed it on to a reef. The Princess reached the shore with the crew in a dinghy after a perilous escape. After the earthquake darkness overspread the country, with the result that the express from Constanza to Bucharest dashed through a group of railway workers, six of whom were killed and many others injured. The driver did not know of the occurrence until on arrival at Bucharest he found the engine was splashed with blood. Many houses were damaged. A woman was killed when a statue of the Virgin Mary fell from a niche in a church. Constanza is a port on the Black Sea. 130 miles east or Bucharest, 70 miles south Ot the mouth oi the Danube. Princess Ileana, who i≤ 20 years old. i= a sister or Prince Carol, whose little son Michael is King or Rumania.
