CHRISTCHURCH FIRES.
HARDWARE STORE DAMAGED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Damage estimated at more than £2000 was done by fire in the Farmers' Cooperative Association's store at Rangiora late last night. The fire originated in the cash office, where it is believed a radiator was left turned on, and it spread to the hardware department, which contained stock valued at £5000. The brigade checked the fire in the hardware department, where moat of the damage was done. All the stock is fully covered by insurance with Lloyd's. Fire broke out yesterday afternoon in Wright, Stephenson and Co.'s seedcleaning and dressing store in Addington. A seed-cleaning machine valued at about £000 was damaged, a dust room was destroyed, and part of the woodwork and roofing of the main building was damaged. The damage is covered by insurance.
