OBITUARY.
MR. LUKE H. HOLLOW AY. An old resident of Auckland, Mr. Luke Hallam Holloway, died at his home, "Te Kopua," Kimberley Road, Epeom, on October 31. He was formerly Registrar of Deeds for Auckland district. Mr. Holloway was born at Nottingham, England, in 1850, being the youngest son of the late. Mr. John Holloway. Deceased arrived in. Auckland in 1860, and was for several years on the Thames and Coromandel goldfields. In 1879 he was appointed to the local branch of the Land Tax Department, and later transferred to that of the Property Tax. Two vears afterwards he entered the Deeds Office and had risen to the position of Deputy Registrar when he retired on superannuation. Mr. Holloway served for some years as a member of the Auckland City School Committee.
MRS. A. E. BENNET.
At the age of 70' years Mm. M. A. Bemiet died* at Ho weik on October 31 She was a daughter of the late Mr. \V. H Lavcock, who came to *ew Zealand w ith his wife and family with the Port Ibert settlers. In ,1885 she was marrSed to Mr. A. E. Bennet, who was in :he timber industry at Tairua where her father was then settled Mr and Mrs. Bennet had lived at Howick for the last 30 years, and for a number of vears they owned the Marine Hotel Ss Bennlt is survived by her husband and the following 'Bennet, of Greenlane; Mrs. r W- Atkins, Frankton Junction; and Mrs. H. Cucksey, Thames.

The untimely death by accident at Ttho Kin. Country, and at Ohakune .Li vears bush manager for millers, Messrs. Gamman >%S and'three carried daughters.
