RAWHITI CLUB.
The Rawhitl Lawn Tennis Club's courts were officially opened for the season on Saturday, when the president, Mr. J. Kalman, extended a cordial welcome to members and their friends, and wished all a successful season. Mr. Kaltnan expressed great pleasure that Mr. T. E. Hickson, president of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association was present to assist at the ceremony. Mr. Hickson briefly addressed the gathering upon the aims and objects of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, and dealt with the benefits which affiliated clubs derived from the association. A badge of life-membership was presented to Mr. It. W. Woods a past-president and founder of the Rawhitl Club. Mr. J. B. Paterson, representing the Rawhiti Bowling Club, extended friendly greetings on behalf of the bowlers. The first ball was then served by Mrs. Kalman, wife of the president, and the courts declared open.
