CARTERTOX, Saturday There was beautiful weather and splendid attendance for the Carteri Racing Club's annual meeting at Cla ville. The track was iii tip-top condit: despite heavy overnight rain. A Poor Class. Streamer, Dai ing Star, and Duellcma were promine early, Duellona and Dancing Star leadi round the turn from Rule Britann Lady Gen and Streamer. Duellona 1 into the straight and won by t lengths from Dancing Star, who be Streamer by half a length. Lady G was . fourth, followed by Painting, a Pat's Boy, with Projection and Greci leading the bunch. The class w moderate, but the winner ecored coj fortably. Austerity Unlucky. A poor start in the Highweight &a the favourites' Austerity and Make I get a decided advantage, and they 1 from Handsome and Domestic Trout down the back. Balloon and Moepi who had been badly served at the stai rushed up and the order on the tu was Moepai, Make Up, Handsome, Bi loon and Austerity. Moepai led into t straight from Make Up and Austerit Moepai weakened, leaving Make Up charge, but Austerity came fast on tl rail and ran him to a head. Moepai wi two lengths off, followed by Handeou and Balloon. It looked as if Austerii should have won. Moepai better eervi at the start and better handled in tl race would have been hard.
