ing. Mr. F. D. Crowley, of Hamilton (Canada), is on a business tour of the Dominion, and is at Hotel Cargen.
Mr. A. W. Watters, late Official Assignee at Christchurch, has commenced his newduties as Official Assignee in Auckland.
Mr. William Lyall Willis, managing director of Lyall Willis and Co., Ltd., London, is staying at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. S. Lewis, solicitor of Cambridge, who has been on a world tour, returned yesterday by the Aorangi. Mr. W. Carrick Wedderspoon, of Christchurch, was a passenger from Vancouver by the Aorangi yesterday.
Mr. W. R. Wilson has been appointed chairman of directors of the_ South British Insurance Company, Limited, for the ensuing year.
Mr. Clifford (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson (Te Awamutu), Mr. and Mrs. Corby (Waitoa) are at the Commercial Hotel.
The Hon. X B. Donald left by the Daylight Limited this morning to represent the Government at the official opening of the Chateau, Tongariro National Park.

Mr. V. R. Crowhurst, Deputy-Official Assignee in Auckland, will commence duty as Deputy-Official Assignee at Hamilton on Wednesday. Mr. J. H. Robertson, Hamilton Assignee, has been transferred to Christchurch.
Mr. E. T. L. Spidy, superintendent of New Zealand Railways Workshops, arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning. Mr. S. R. Jenkinson, assistant locomotive engineer of New Zealand Railways, arrived by the same train.
